Victoria 2, much like other Paradox titles but even more so, brings a level of historicity and detail unimaginable in civ - at the cost of a more limited scope, no random planets and established initial powers. Victoria 2 is an amazingly intricate real time strategy nation simulator, where battles are done automatically and the weight on the player's attention is in diplomacy, politics, society and the economy. TW is a turned based strategy, real time tactics game, where the strategy part is relatively simplistic and the tactics part is what makes it so glorious. Last I checked they had ~250,000 troops garrisoning Canada alone, and possessed a grand total of 1300 brigades. I'm finding that the United Kingdom is just ludicrously overpowered.
